Sample result
Loopwork ranks 1.7 on ChatGPT and 3.9 on Grok for the same prompt
The AI rank tracker's sample follows one fictional brand, Loopwork, on one prompt in the United States. ChatGPT names it in 71.2% of answers with an average rank of 1.7, while Grok names it in 31.7% and ranks it 3.9. The same brand can lead on one engine and trail on another.
| Engine | Visibility | Average rank | Citation rate | Share of voice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 71.2% | 1.7 | 62.5% | 26.4% |
| Perplexity | 64.8% | 2.2 | 98.1% | 22.1% |
| Google AI Mode | 58.3% | 2.6 | 88.4% | 19.7% |
| Microsoft Copilot | 46.1% | 3.0 | 79.3% | 15.2% |
| Claude | 39.4% | 3.4 | 41.2% | 12.6% |
| Grok | 31.7% | 3.9 | 55.6% | 9.8% |
How it works
Three steps put your brand's rank on every engine in one table
The AI rank tracker needs your brand, the prompt your buyers ask and the engines to compare. We run the prompt on each engine, find where your brand appears in every answer, average its rank and email you one row per engine. The table puts the engines side by side, on the same prompt and market.
-
Step 1
Enter brand and prompt
Type your brand and the question your buyers ask. Aliases of the brand are matched for you.
-
Step 2
Pick the engines
Three engines are ticked by default. Add the others to compare all six.
-
Step 3
Get the table by email
Leave your work email and company. Our team sends one row per engine to that address.
Reading the columns
Four columns per engine show presence, rank, sources and share
The AI rank tracker reports four numbers for each engine, all computed on the same answers. Visibility says how often the engine names the brand, average rank says how early, citation rate says how often the engine cites a source, and share of voice compares the brand's mentions with everyone else's.
Visibility
The share of the engine's answers that name the brand, from 0 to 100. Compare engines on this column first.
Average rank
Where the brand comes in the answers that name it, averaged. Lower is better: 1.0 means always named first.
Citation rate
The share of the engine's answers that cite at least one source. A high rate means the engine leans on sources, so the pages it cites matter more there.
Share of voice
The brand's mentions divided by all brand mentions in that engine's answers. It shows how crowded the answers are.
Use cases
3 kinds of teams use engine-by-engine ranks
The AI rank tracker gives each audience a reason to look engine by engine. Platforms see what a per-engine tab would show their customers, agencies find the engine where a client trails, and brands decide which engines deserve their content effort. Each card opens the matching pattern.
A per-engine tab, previewed
Run the check on a customer brand to see the rows a per-engine tab would hold. The API returns the same rows for every workspace.
AgenciesThe engine where a client trails
Show a client the engine that ranks them lowest, with the numbers behind it. That engine is where the next round of work should start.
E-commerce & brandsWhere to focus content effort
Compare your rank on the engines your buyers use most. Put the effort where a small gain moves the most answers.
Comparison
Only 1 of 4 approaches ranks a brand on every engine as data
The AI rank tracker runs on the same data as the AI Model Comparison API, which scores every engine with the same definitions. An AI scraping API returns answers without ranks, a GEO dashboard tool keeps ranks behind its interface on a fixed engine list, and an in-house build has to rank and maintain every engine itself.
| Capability | API for GEO | AI scraping API | GEO dashboard tool | In-house build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Average position in answer | Yes | No | Yes, closed | Build it |
| Model & locale coverage as reference data | Yes | Varies | Fixed list | Your problem |
| Programmatic access to everything | Yes | Yes | Export only | Yes |
FAQ
AI rank tracker, answered
How is the rank report produced?
The AI rank tracker runs your prompt on each engine you tick, finds where your brand appears in every answer and averages its position. Our team then emails you one row per engine, so the result takes longer than an on-screen check but covers all the engines you picked.
What does average rank mean?
The AI rank tracker's average rank is the mean position of your brand in the answers that name it. A rank of 1.7 means the brand usually comes first or second; answers that leave the brand out do not count toward it, which is why it sits next to visibility.
Which engines does it compare?
The AI rank tracker compares six engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Grok. Three are ticked by default and the others can be added in the form, up to all six in one report, on the prompt you choose.
Can I track my rank over time?
The AI rank tracker gives one report per request. Following the rank every week, across a full prompt set, is what the AI Model Comparison API does: it reads every stored run per engine, so the rows can feed a dashboard or a monthly report.
Is the sample result real data?
The AI rank tracker's sample uses a fictional brand, Loopwork, and a sample prompt, so it shows the shape of the report without describing a real market. Your own report uses the brand, prompt and engines you enter in the form.
