Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of API for GEO. By creating an organisation, generating a key or calling the API, you agree to them.

Effective 22 September 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

API for GEO is operated by MentionLab SRL, a company incorporated under Belgian law, registered office Rue Blanche-Eau 15, 6950 Nassogne, Belgium, enterprise and VAT number BE 1030.919.265. "We" means that company. "You" means the organisation that opens an account. If you accept these terms for a company, you confirm you may bind it.

2. Credits

A credit is one prompt, executed once, against one model, in one locale, with every enrichment layer included. Billing is pay as you go.

  • Volume tiers apply automatically. Current rates are on the pricing page.
  • Credits are charged when a job is triggered and reconciled when it completes.
  • Failed executions are refunded to your balance automatically.
  • Credits do not expire, and reads over data you already generated are unmetered within your rate limit.
  • Prices exclude VAT and other taxes. Free credits carry no cash value and we may withdraw them.

3. The service

We execute your prompts against third-party generative engines and return the answer plus the computed layer: resolved entities, positions, share of voice, cited sources, sentiment, themes, shopping results and fan-out questions. The same families are exposed through an MCP server.

We may change, add or remove endpoints, models, locales and enrichment layers, with reasonable notice where a change removes something you rely on. Rate limits, concurrency and support times follow your tier. Status is at status.apiforgeo.com. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, we make no uptime commitment.

4. Keys and security

Keys are issued and revoked in the application, never through the API. A key is a bearer credential: anyone holding it can spend your credits, so keep it server side. You are responsible for everything done with your keys, including by your own customers. Report a leaked key or a vulnerability to security@mentionlab.io.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, and specifically not to:

  • submit prompts designed to extract personal data about identifiable individuals;
  • attack, overload or circumvent rate limits, or probe our systems without written permission;
  • sublicense direct API access, as distinct from the reselling allowed in section 6;
  • present the output as a statement by an engine operator, or as fact rather than measurement.

We may suspend access immediately where use threatens the service or exposes us to legal risk. We will tell you why and restore it once the cause is resolved.

6. Your data, our output, and resale

Your prompts, tags, entity lists and configuration stay yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: execute the prompts, store the results, compute the layers and return them to you.

The output is yours to use, store, transform and resell. Reselling is an intended use: put the numbers in your own product, under your own brand, and charge for them. There is no attribution requirement in the payload, and projects are isolated so data does not mix between your end customers. You remain responsible to your customers for your product, and to us for all usage under your keys.

We may use aggregated, de-identified usage statistics to operate and improve the service. That never includes your prompts, your entity lists or anything identifying you or your customers.

7. Third-party generative engines

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, Anthropic, Microsoft, xAI or any other engine operator. Their names identify which engine produced an answer, nothing more.

Generative engines are non-deterministic and change without notice. The same prompt can produce different answers on different runs. The output is a measurement of what an engine said at a point in time, not a statement of fact and not advice. A model or locale can become unavailable at short notice, which is outside our control.

8. Intellectual property and confidentiality

We keep all rights in the service: the API, the pipeline, the documentation, the site and the brand. You keep all rights in your data and your product. Each side will protect the other's non-public information with reasonable care and use it only to perform these terms.

9. Warranties and liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the service and the output are provided "as is", without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the output is complete or correct, or that results repeat between runs.

Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data. Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is capped at what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from the product you build on it.

10. Term, termination and changes

These terms run while you have an account. You may close it at any time. We may terminate for material breach that is not fixed within 30 days of notice, or immediately for the conduct in section 5. On termination we delete or return your data as set out in the privacy policy; unused credits are not refundable in cash unless the law requires it.

We may update these terms, giving at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email or in the application. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the judicial district of Luxembourg, Belgium have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory right you have to bring a claim elsewhere. If a clause is unenforceable the rest stands, and not exercising a right does not waive it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor of our business.
